Round photo magnets as a gift, a few things I'd look for

Quote

Anyone else running out of gift ideas for the grandparents? They keep telling us they don't need anything, and that's probably true. What they do like is seeing the kids' faces, so photo magnets keep coming up.

I'd look at round ones. A circle crops out the messy background and puts the face right in the middle, so even a chaotic phone photo of a toddler can look nice. Squares are fine too, but for one face I think round looks better.

Size is the first thing to check. Around 2.25 inches is good for a single face. Anything with three or four people gets tiny fast, so I'd save group shots for a rectangle.

Then look for the pressed kind, where the photo wraps over the edge of a hard shell. The cheap paper-on-a-magnet-sheet ones tend to curl at the corners, and a fridge door gets bumped a lot.

Names are a nice touch if you've got a lot of grandkids or cousins. A name or a year under each photo turns the set into a little family directory for the fridge, and it's fun to look back on a few years later when the kids look completely different.

Also make sure the site shows you the whole set before you pay. Cropping to a circle is where heads get cut off, and you want to catch that before it's printed.

If you want somewhere to start, Fresh Magnets has personalized round photo magnets at 2.25 inches that tick those boxes: Six are $18.99 and they're made in 1 to 2 business days. Their Christmas cutoff is December 8, so there's still time, though I wouldn't leave it until the last week.

What's everyone else doing for grandparents this year?
